Cannot install ADS on Windows 2003 -- AlterCast error

This is the unformatted text-only version of this page: Cannot install ADS on Windows 2003 -- AlterCast error

I downloaded ADS and try to install it. At the begining, I am expecting to have it installed like other Windows applications -- click and done.

No such luck, seems the error is related to AlterCast server process -- by looking into the altercast.log file.

Do I miss anything? Are there anyone can help me to install ADS correctly?
Thanks in advance.

Followings are the content of my altercast.log file.

Just a thought.. Looks like a Network Socket error. The firewall may be on and you need to configure it via "security configuration wizard".

Did you install with Admin privileges? (page 15 of the Installation Guide)

1. From a command line window enter:
altercast -version
If that reports the version number, the core of the install completed successfully.

2. In the Services control panel, stop and restart the AlterCastDocEdition services
- wait two minutes and try again and see if you can successfully visit the ADS Admin pages att: <http://localhost:8019/altercast> (the default username is admin with a password of adobe)

If this works, the TomCat and WebServices part of the installation seems to be ok. Try doing again whatever generated the error you reported.

If you're not getting a response to altercast -version, the installation seems to have failed.

Are you getting any errors during the installation?
Have you tried reinstalling?
Are you logged on as Administrator?
Are you sitting in front of the machine you're installing onto?

Thank for Bob's Reply!

I have no any errors during the installation.
I have tried reinstalling over three times in every three PCs by logging on as Administrator.
I have installed ADS in local machine, which OS is windows server 2003(simplified chinese release) with SP1.

All results are same error, no response. But why?

The AGS 2.1 ReadMe has this entry:

Regional Settings

ISSUE: Starting the AGS Windows service on a Windows 2000 server
with regional settings set to Simplified Chinese causes AGS to stop
responding.

WORKAROUND: Set the regional settings to English.
