Hello all,
i'm having an annoying problem, i bought two copies of creative suite and have two machines in my office, networked together using a crossover cable (no server/hub) i installed CS on my machine fine and version cue works and it's great. But when i installed CS on the other machine, VC won't start, it brings up an error box ststing there was a problem and then a dos window appears and then it says i have to re-install it (which i have done, 7times now!) and it still won't work. the dos window says something about api@ servername?????

both machines are running windows xp home sp1 with ample resources.

please help!

I can't say for sure, but you are probably having an ip addressing
problem. Connecting both computers together for Windows networking is
probably not a problem, but version cue may be used to operating on a
TCP/IP network. How are IP addresses being assigned?

think they are assigned dynamically, my machine (the one that VC works on) gets it's ip from my isp (?) the other (the one that VC won't work on) has it's ip assigned dynamically. I'm pretty sure thats right; if you tell me where to look i could find out for you.

thanks for your help.

I thought that your two computer's were connected by a crossover
cable. How is one of the machines getting its ip from the ISP? An ip
address from a dial-up modem doesn't count.
