No new project can be created :(

Hi there,

I'm testing Adobe Creative Suite (english version) on a german OS X 10.3. I do have multiple problems:

1. Ic can't create a new project. Version cue is running, I can save files to the demo project, so version cue itself seems to be working. But from the version cue tools I can't create a new project. I select "New project..." - and nothing happens (regardless of in which application - PS, ID, whtever - I try to do so).

2. I can't log in to "Advanced administration". It says that my password was incorrect (which is definately not the case) or - if I type in the short name instead of the full name - it told me, this user had no admin rights - which of course is completely wrong, it *does* have admin rights as it is the only user registered.

Any idea?

btw: Help files are badly structured, "How to open version cue projects" is prior to "How to create a project". Sorry, but the version cue Online Help is ... not really helpful.

The default login for advanced administration is User ID: system
Password: system.

Ah, great :)

Is this a secret which only "the chosen ones" are told or am I really that blind already?

There's a PDF about Version Cue included with the suite. I'd suggest
reading it. I found it was time well invested.

Well, I have a CS-preview for journalists - there is a readme, that says, it was a place holder for a readme ;) Thanks anyway...

I am now able to create new projects via the browser-administration. Could it be that it takes quite a time until the new project becomes available? I had to stop an restart version cue or at least had to quit and restart ID/PS/Illu to be able to save a document to the new (blank) project. The project folder showed up right after I saved a file to the project, before that it hasn't been available (could not be found). Normal?

Still, "new project..." from the menu (Open dialogue in ID, PS...) doesn't work. Are there any known issues with CS/version cue and 10.3?

I do think that the way that the way in which Adobe gives VC a password when it installs it -- but doesn't tell you what it is -- and then labels you (the owner of the computer and the flaming software!) as a "User" without Privileges, is diabolical.

I know that the "Sign in as System" info is included deep inside a PDF but it took me the longest time to find that while I tried repeatedly to use my normal password and was denied access to the Advanced dialogue because I was deemed to be a mere "User".

Damn Adobe's meanness in not supplying a proper printed Manual for VC!

Meanwhile, could you either: just add a configuration dialog that will appear during installation which lets you setup your Login/Password; or automatically assign Admin status to the computer owner?
