I'm beginning my testing of Version Cue. I've set it up on two Macintosh workstations connected on a LAN via Ethernet. On both, I've gone to System Preferences > Version Cue and set This Workspace Is Visible to Others and set Version Cue On. I've turned it on in the CS apps on each workstation. I'm beginnning to work with the Reviewer's Guide files from the Adobe website on Workstation A, and I've created a project and set it to Share This Project with Others. I also created a project folder on Workstation B.

I have file sharing turned on on both computers, and I've mounted Workstation A on Workstation B, and vice versa so the files are available across the network.

Yet when I go into Photoshop CS or InDesign CS, and choose File > Open, and click on the Project Cue button, I can only see the projects on the local workstation...but not projects on the other workstation.

What am I missing?

The workaround for this problem is to choose the Connect To command, and enter the IP address, and the port number (3703). It should have detected the other workstation automatically or when clicking Refresh. It seems to be a bug.

To be detected automatically on the network, the VC workspace has to be able to broadcast its existence and that broadcast received. If you can connect to it directly but cannot see it, that suggests that the broadcast is blocked or some other network configuration is not right.

I think I encountered a bug. I could mount the other workstation, and see and work with its files in OS X. It was Version Cue which could not see the other workspace.

However, after connecting once with the Connect To command, the problem has not yet recurred (crossing fingers).
