I was hoping to use Version Cue to manage my GoLive project, and be able to access it from both my laptop and desktop. After today, I'm about to throw in the towel and give up on it.
First, something in my VersionCue project got corrupted (I'm guessing). I could not open my existing VersionCue project in GoLive, which would crash as soon as it started opening files. Tech Support wasn't much help, they recommended the following: repair permissions and regorganize languages in the International system preferences. When that didn't work, they said to rebuild the project from scratch. Wonderful.
So, I rebuilt a local copy of the project (not using VersionCue). Once I had all that put back together, I tried to create a new VersionCue project using the 'Import Folder' method. I got a version Cue project, but my components and templates were not imported. I added those in manually, but now my web pages lost any clue that they were created from a template. I tried 'Reattach Template' to no effect. I tried 'Assign new Template' but got some bizarre error. Detaching and re-assigning a template seems to be working better.
Anyway, it appears to me that VersionCue (or at least GoLive's usage of it) is a piece of crap. Does anyone have any advice on how to get this to work successfully?
