Has anyone tried backing up a Version Cue folder? and if so, do the files retain the version data when restored to the hard drive?
I've encountered no problems with Version Cue at this time, I'm just curious to see if anyone has tried this.
thanks

The Version Cue folder (Mac: in Documents/Win: in My Documents) contains the current working copies of files you have opened in Version Cue. There are two ways to backup complete version data.
First: you can go the Version Cue Workspace Administration and click the Perform Advanced Tasks link. This will take you into a sequence from which you can backup either specific projects or the entire Version Cue Workspace.
Second: you can perform a back up using software such as Retrospect (on the Mac) by pointing that at the Adobe Version Cue application folder. This will permit the restoring of a complete Workspace with tools such as that.

The project backup from the Administration tool works great for GoLive sites.

Bob, can you elaborate on the backing up with Retrospect?
I'm using restrospect 6 on a Mac OS 10.2.8 server. I would put the workspace on the server as well. My problem would not be the backup part, but more the retreive part of the process. If I want to revert to a previous version, or the files get corrupted for what ever reason, can I retrieve that file only from retrospect or I have to retrive the whole workspace? If I store everything on the server, I'll have only one workspace, which is very large since we have 130gig now on the server. How do you suggest we proceed to integrate VC in our workflow?
TIA
Jeff

Bob.
I tried to use the Admin tool to back-up a project and it told me that it worked but I don't know where the backup is stored. Can you tell me? Thanks.
