XML, Html and tags, oh my!

Hello,
When importing xml into Indesign text...the html tags are still evident, rather than telling the text what to do. We have a lengthy abstract book and for expample when a word should be rendered as an italicized word...it shows up as word ...with the tag there....

Also addresses are supposed to be listed lineral, but are coming through vertically.

And additionally we have superscript numbers that are not behaving superscriptly...Any suggestions or thought will be gratefully appreciated....!

When you import XML using File->Place or similar command then it is imported as simple text rather than XML.

XML import filter becomes active if it is imported using Import XML menu option.
