Copying text style from one character to another

In a number of layout and WP programs (including somewhat clumsily in InDesign) there's a simple and fantastic feature that allows you to select a bit of text and copy it's style information. Then you can select another bit of text and paste the original selections 'style' onto it.

In Word it's as simple as:
Select the text
hit CRTL+SHFT+C
Select unstyled text
hit CTRL+SHFT+V
Voila

Macromedia, er, Adobe Freehand is almost the same with the addition of the ALT key. It doesn't need to pertain to an entire text block either - just the text you've selected. Such a time saver!

Short of that, perhaps the ability to apply text tool presets to bits of selected text?

Please?

Thankum!
