I just installed my new copy of Elements 3.0 and it migrated my Album 2.0 catalog. However, none of the captions has been copied over, and the slide shows seem to be missing most photos. How can I at least recover my captions?

John,
How can I at least recover my captions?
A few days ago, I upgraded to PSE 3 from PSA 2.0.1, it migrated my catalog and my captions are present when I select a photo in the Photo Well and look at Properties.
Where are you checking the captions?

John,
I did a creation to make a PDF slideshow with PSE 3. It did not pick up the captions from the photos and I did not seem to find any option for it to pick up the captions. I think it was called a simple slideshow. I hope that there was some option that I missed but rignt now I am puzzled.

John, have a look at the following techdoc provided by Adobe:

John,
I also noticed that Photo Review, which uses the same icon as PSA 2 Instant Slideshow, is showing the captions.
However, I still have not found a way to use captions in the Simple Slideshow for PDF. My slidehsow preferences have Include Photo Captions as Text checked. This seems to be a regression from the function in PSA 2. If you find a way, please post the info to this thread. Thanks.

BarbO,
You are right. There does not seem to be a way to add captions to a simple slideshow.
I tried creating a Custom slideshow which displays captions if Include Photo Captions as Test option in Slideshow preferences is selected. However, this slideshow is saved in wmv format not in pdf format.

Does anyone know if this lack of Captions on a Simple Slideshow is a bug?
It does not seem logical to me for Adobe to deliver less function in a PDF slideshow (when PDF is their own format) than we previously had in PSA 2. The PSA 2 slideshow is simple, quick and easy to do, yet it optionally provides captions.
