HI all, just wondering if there is an easy way to move photos from my hard drive to a DVD and then update the catalog of remaining photos and the deleted ones on the hard drive? If I delete the files from the hard drive after moving them to DVD, won't they still show up in the organizer as being on the hard drive? Sorry if this sounds confusing but it is to me. Thanks for any help.

I suggest that you read the Help topic "To burn (copy) photos and other items". Here is a cut and paste of the beginning of that topic.

The Burn command is used to copy a set of photos to a CD or DVD. For instance,
you might want to give your photos to a friend. Or, perhaps your hard
disk is filling up and you want to get the full-resolution masters of
photos you don’t use often off your drive and onto a CD.

The Burn command includes a Move option. With this option, all the master
files of the selected photos are written to a CD or DVD, and then a low-resolution
proxy (copy) is written to your hard disk and the master files are deleted
from your disk. Now, you can continue to see the photos in your catalog
just as before and view them on-screen, but you’ve freed up most of the
disk space they used.

To use this function, go to File > Burn > Copy/Move > Move Files.

Unfortunately in the past, some people have experienced problems when doing this Burn to multiple DVDs. Therefore, I suggest that you do a sample first with less signficant photos.

Or as an alternative just keep all the photo files on a hard drive, perhaps an external hard drive, because hard drive prices have decreased significantly.

In the past, people required a duplicate amount of available space on their hard drive as the files that were being moved to DVD. This was for the duration of the Move to DVD process. I don't think I have seen recent feedback on this process.
