I have bought Adobe Photoshop Elements 3 last week, which is my first Adobe product. I have Windows XP and am used to viewing pictures with the Windows Explorer Browser. When I double click a picture, it goes right to the Adobe Photoshop picture viewer which is too complicated and I cant view multiple pictures through a folder unless I do it as a slide show on the My Pictures function.
How can i disable the Adobe Picture Viewer and look at my pictures through the Windows Picture Explorer?

Joseph,
When you installed PSE 3, it probably gave you a list of file types and you probably left those file types checked. So I suspect that PSE has made it self the Windows default program for these file types. Here is one way to change this.
If you are in Windows Explorer, right click on one of the photo files and select Open With. The click on Choose Program. In the next Window choose Picture and Fax Viewer plus check the box for Always use the selected program to open this type of file.
Your photo files are probably .jpg files, if you also have .tiff files you will need to do this sequence for each file type.
Once you learn the PSE Organizer, you can import photos to PSE, look at multiple thumbnails from the same or different folder in the PSE photo well, search for photos with given tags, and step thru selected photos full screen in Photo Review. But for now you can do the above change to easily use the windows picture viewer.

You can also change the file association settings by opening the Editor, choosing Edit > File Assocations, and unchecking the file types you want to use with teh Windows picture viewer.
