Canon G2 white balance too warm

I have been using Camera Raw under Mac OS X to convert files from my Canon Powershot G2. I have found that the white balance of the converted images using the preset settings (e.g. daylight, shade, etc) is always much warmer (i.e. more orange) than using the Canon software with the same settings. Although I can correct this using the adjustment sliders, this is tedious to do for every image. I find that I have to adjust the colour temperature down to about 5000K for daylight images to get acceptable white balance. This is such a pain that I have gone back to using the Canon software.

Has anyone else noticed this? Am I doing something wrong? Or are there any plans to correct this problem?

Cheers,
Ed.

Ed,

This is easily fixed by you - Create your own default CAMERA settings.

1. Open an image and adjust the white balance to your desired value.
2. Click the little triangle to the right of the popup that is labelled "Settings" and choose "Save Settings"
3. Again click the little triangle to the right of the poup that is labelled "Settings" and choose "Set Camera Default "

Future images should open with the white balance you chose as the Default.

Thanks Ian, I'll give that a try.
