I've been using Encore for awhile but just did my first dvd with subtitles. I just got done outputting a DVD9 project to DLT (which takes a long time) and I noticed I had the subtitle track "active" in the timeline. Will having it active when the project is built cause the subtitle track to be on by default when played? I'm thinking it does (and I don't want that as I have an option in the menu) but thought I'd ask before taking the time to rewrite the DLTs.

thanks
Ryan

Ryan, I don't think having the subtitle track active within the project has an effect on the output to DLT. If you notice, even if you save your project with the subtitle track active, when you exit and reload the project, the subtitle track will be inactive. You pose an interesting question though. To be truthful, although I've sent out many DLTs with subtitles for mastering, I've never checked into that scenario. Peace, BJ

The only way to have the subtitle on by default is to link it in that way (i.e. link the button to the timeline and have it select the subtitle track, or specify the active subtitle track in the Disc properties).
