I don't know if this makes sense but there would be just two advise for little improvement in the selection tools in photoshop.

1, polygonal lasso tools, the first point of the polygonal selections should be marked (with a circle for simplicity), because quite often it is very hard to find the beginning (to close the selection)

2, Selection/border. I think it would be good if we could change that the bordering goes inwards or outwards or middle, not just middle. Actually, many cases the middle is the hardest to estimate for creating bordered selections, only for outside or inside. (its possible through expand and contract, but those do change the shape of the selection as well) so it would be much less steps and headache to make bordered selections.

1. the cursor changes when you are over the opening point. double-clicking will also close the lasso, drawing a "line" from the point where you clicked and the beginning of the lasso.

2. if you're talking about stroke, the "edit > stroke..." dialog has three radio buttons (inside, center, outside) and the stroke layer effect has a drop down menu with the same options.

• DOUBLE CLICK the polygonal lasso tool to close the selection, easier and quicker. Your suggestion misses a better way of doing it, which already exists

• Again, whatever you are talking about, and your description is very bad - there are better ways of doing it. Learn ACTIONS and automation
