Re: DNG supporters page
For interest, I added PhotoAcute Studio to my "supporter's page" in March:
<http://www.barrypearson.co.uk/articles/dng/products.htm>
<http://www.barrypearson.co.uk/articles/dng/products.htm#photoacutestudio>
(Adobe's list is out-of-date!)

Re: DNG supporters page
Adobe's list is quite out of date and that's entirely my fault. Each product that appears on the Adobe page needs to be verified for actual DNG compatibility and the number of DNG supporters is growing beyond my ability to evaluate each new addition or verify that previous software is still on the market. This type of content is exactly what a community based wiki site was intended to provide. I'll see if I can provide that solution and remove myself and Adobe as the bottleneck.

Tom Hogarty

Re: DNG supporters page
Tom, thank you for making things clear. Hope you will test and add our software sometimes :).
Barry, your list is just great! Thank you.
Cheers,
Sergey

Re: DNG supporters page
Attention Tom Hogarty:
This type of content is exactly what a community based wiki site was intended
to provide. I'll see if I can provide that solution and remove myself
and Adobe as the bottleneck.
If you get a Wiki going, I have a lot of material that can be used to populate it as a starter-kit. Not just my list of 220+ products, which could begin a set of initial stubs, but many pages (I have 20+) of other stuff too, depending on the scope of the Wiki.
My pages are the wrong place to hold most of that material. The information is there because there was nowhere else for it. Pierre-Etienne Courtejoie posted original lists in 2005 on the Rawformat website, but that site went into decline, so I rescued his lists. I've continued to add more material as a result of posting to various forums, but a Wiki would be far better.
Once my material has a home elsewhere, I would freeze it on my site and contribute to the Wiki.
Index to my pages:

Re: DNG supporters page
Tom and Barry: would a WIC-based commercial image viewer count as supporter?
DNG format viewing and rating (XMP sidecars) is supported in FastPictureViewer for some times already, through the Ardfry DNG codec and of course now through Adobe's own WIC codec.

Re: DNG supporters page
Axel Rietschin:

I tend to include in my list products that have significant specific code for DNG. That is because I was trying to identify how much DNG was considered important by product suppliers, to show its progress towards being a de facto standard.
I was not trying to provide a catalogue for photographers themselves of all products that they could use if they used DNG. That could become a hopeless task for an amateur photographer! So I have tended not to list products that rely on others to do the work.
I don't have a rigid rule, but I used the page to show to skeptics that lots of companies recognised DNG, so I didn't include products that they could casually dismiss. (Indeed, in my separate "products that don't support DNG" page, I include products that do support DNG but only a little bit!)
I think I'll stick to my policy for the time being, but I would prefer to hand over maintenance of the list to a Wiki, and freeze my own pages. Then the Wiki would probably have a different policy, and it might make sense to have a more comprehensive catalogue. The Wiki would have far wider readership.

Re: DNG supporters page
Vojtech Tryhuk - Thanks, I've updated the page. (I already had it as a DNG supporter).
