pdf does not open in Reader 8.1.2 when converted from MS Word 2003 document to a PDF using Acrobat Elements 6.0. This problem started when I updated my Reader from 6.0 to 8.1.2

Go to <www.acrobat.com>. Create an account if you don't have one. Upload
on of the troublesome pdf files, then double click on it. Can you view
the file. If you can read it, then the problem is reader. If you cannot,
the problem is Acrobat elements.

How do I upload a document since I don't have ftp software.

When on the www.acrobat.com website. Click the "My Files" icon. If you
are not already signed in, you can sign in or create a new account.
Click the upload icon at the top of the page, then click the browse
button to help locate the file you want to upload. The click the upload
button. Locate the file you uploaded on the lower part of the screen.
Double click on the file to view it.

I uploaded it to acrobat.com and was able to read it. So the problem is the reader. What do I do now?

Well, you could try to uninstall and re-install either 8.1.2 or even
give 9.0 a try.
